Walter Brager

Walter S. Brager, 90 year's young of Madison, Wisconsin and Austin, Texas went to be with his savior Lord Jesus on November 16, 2015; he was surrounded by his loving and admiring family.
Walter was born October 20th 1925 in Kewaunee, WI to Rose and Walter Brager. He enlisted in the Air Force after High School and served his country during WWII. After the war, he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Madison where he completed his B.S. in Industrial Engineering and M.B.A. During school, he met his forever partner, Lois J. Park, and together they started their family and career. Walter went to work for the Oscar Mayer Company right out of school as an Industrial Engineer. Through hard work and dedication he rose through the ranks to become the Executive Vice-President. He was an active leader in many professional organizations and community activities, including serving on the board of Sub-Zero for 30 years. Walter worked tirelessly throughout his retirement years to provide leadership, guidance, and support for his family, community, and church. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, visiting friends and family, and watching his beloved Badgers and Packers. This self-made man was and will always be an inspiration to his family for many generations.
Walter is survived by his loving wife Lois and three children: Kim (Jim) Erickson, Superior WI; Jim (Jean) Brager, Green Bay, WI; Todd (Cathleen) Brager, Lindenhurst, IL. He is also survived by 9 adoring and grateful Grandchildren, Nathan (Amanda) Erickson, Mark (Stacy) Erickson and Chad Erickson, Laura (Andy) Bloomquist, Kristy Brager and Katlyn (Brett) Svor, Mitchell Brager, Jennifer Brager, and Brittany Brager. He is also survived by two great grandchildren Evelyn Jean and Levi Walter Bloomquist who were fortunate enough to meet this awesome man, and one new great grandchild Emmett James Erickson. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mildred Panosh, of Kewaunee and daughter-in-law Dawn Brager (Gilbertson).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison with Monsignor Charles Schluter officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing Rd, Lakeway, TX 78734, and Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E Cheryl Pkwy, Fitchburg, WI 53711.

He will be forever missed and loved!
