Obituary
MADISON-Rosalie A. Verbeski, age 85, passed away on December 2, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. Rosie was born in Madison on April 19th, 1930, the daughter of Vincenzo James and Gerolama (Chiovaro) Caravello. She was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School in 1944 and Madison West High School in 1948. She was married to her husband George M. Verbeski for 47 years. She spent her entire working career in the health care industry while working for Madison General Hospital, The Wisconsin Neurological Hospital, the Verona Home and until her retirement in 1995 from the UW Hospital. Her loves in life were her family and friends, gardening and her dogs.
She is survived by her two children James (Robin) High of Pewaukee, WI and Linda (Richard) McGuigan of New Glarus, WI, five grandchildren, Traci (Jerry), Shannon (Corey), Scott (Emily), Brad (Brittney), Chris and eleven great grandchildren, Kiera, Keegan, Austin, Torri, Paytin, Jimi, Lucy, William, Owen, Ava, and Brayden and her sisters Mary Bennetzen, Ann (Warren) Larson, Virginia Buskager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Steven J. Caravello, and her sisters Florence M. Stoffels and Josephine Roberts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015, at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., with Msgr. Michael Burke presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Friday.
