Wayne Larson

Verona – Wayne Larson, age 60, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was born on August 3, 1955 in Tomah, WI, the son of Carroll and William Larson, and brother to Beverly Rood. He was a graduate of New Lisbon High School in 1973 and then UW. Eau Claire in 1977, with a double Business and Information Systems degree. Employment included Ray - O - Vac in Madison, Walker - Carlisle in New Lisbon and Spectrum Brands in Madison.
His family was his greatest passion in life. He married his high school sweetheart, Vikki Wiora, on June 21, 1980. They had three children, Danielle, Brianna and Brandon. Jeremiah Clay joined this family when Jerry was in High School. Wayne bonded this family with his faith, love, compassion, doing for others, and great sense of humor.
Wayne was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, especially in Northern Wisconsin and Canada with the company of his sons, other family members and good friends. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing. As a dedicated father, he was present at every school function, dance recital, music presentation, hockey and lacrosse game, and embraced every moment. In later years, spending time with his grandchildren was a treasure to him. He loved his new name, "Papa".
He is survived by his wife, Vikki Larson of Verona, daughter Danielle (Will) Bendt (sons Cooper and Eli) of Sun Prairie, daughter Brianna Larson (daughter Audrey) of Verona, son Brandon Larson of Hudson, Jeremiah Clay of Chicago, mother Carroll Larson of New Lisbon, sister Bev (Jeff) Rood of New Lisbon, mother-in-law Helen Wiora of New Lisbon, brother-in-law Jim Wiora of Mauston, sister-in-law Valerie (Craig) Johnson of New Lisbon, brother-in-law Tim (Debbie) Wiora of Madison, nieces and nephews: Kristi, Kari, Chris, Ben and Greg, great-nieces Amelia and Zoey, and many other dear family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father William Larson, father-in-law Richard Wiora, sister-in-law Pam Wiora, and nephew Nicholas Wiora.
Heartfelt thanks go out to all physicians, staff, chaplains and all others on the 7th floor of ICU at Meriter Hospital, and to Father Schmeltzer and Father Vernon for the prayers and blessings for Wayne and words of comfort to the family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 408 W. River St
New Lisbon, WI 53950, with Father Robert Letona presiding. A visitation will be held from 5 - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Ryan Funeral Home, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona WI 53593, and again on Friday, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at Church. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in New Lisbon.
