Obituary
DeForest – Richard Arthur Schwartzer, age 76, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 12, 2015.
Richard was born on March 6, 1939 in Chicago, IL and moved to Wisconsin in 1971. He was self-employed in the insurance business. Richard enjoyed everything life had to offer, especially his family and friends, travel, country music, Ho-Chunk and sports – most importantly “Da BEARS!”
Richard is survived by his wife, Arlene; his children David (Laurie) Schwartzer, Kathryn (Greg) Marks, Dan (Laurie) Schwartzer; Steven (Tammy) Schwartzer; his step-children Randy (Deana) Ziegler, Jamie Ziegler, Melody (Rick) Nelson and Jesse (Nicole) Ziegler; his grandchildren Emily, Zachary and Michael (Britney) Schwartzer; Trevor, Tyler and Tessa Marks; Brett (Courtney), Colin, Lauren (Leo) Almeida, Lucas and Jacob Schwartzer, Christina (Brad) Vollrath, and Hailey Kohls; Hannah, Sydney and Reagan Schwartzer; Brandon, Nakeia and Chase Ziegler; Paige and Maiya Nelson; and Isaac and Jene’ Ziegler; great-grandchildren Logan and Lexie Schwartzer; Mason and Kennedy Almeida, and many friends and relatives. He looked forward to the anticipated arrival of his two new great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by Anne, his wife of 49 years, his grandsons Jackson and Chance Schwartzer and many loved ones.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace Hospice Care and to all our family and friends for their care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at NOON, on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:00AM until time of MASS on Saturday at the church. Burial will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
