William Edwin “Bill” Schloman, age 90, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him at Oak Park Place, Madison on December 14, 2015. He was born June 18, 1925 in Forest Park, Illinois, the son of Walter and Mabel (Ahrendt) Schloman. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Margaret Shaw on August 23, 1947 at St. John Lutheran Church in Forest Park, Illinois.
Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an avid Cub fan. He was a World War II veteran, who served in the Pacific. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his six granddaughters.
Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret M. “Peg” Schloman, Madison; two daughters, Nancy (James) Spitzack, Milwaukee, Susan (John) Schroeder, Poynette; six grandchildren, Sarah (Scott) Gustafson, Melanie (Carl) Vess, Jennifer (Jeff) Davidson, Laura (Nick) Jasurda, Amy Henke, Christine (Joseph) Lapacek; nine great-grandchildren and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Audrey Toopes and grandson-in-law, Sam Henke.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 County Road K, Leeds, with Reverend Jacob Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 20 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest and again on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Special School and Education Services.
