Obituary
MADISON - Rosalia Ann "Rose" Stein (nee’ Spataro), age 83, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. Rose was born on March 1, 1932 in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Gabriel Spataro and Margaret (Vultaggio) Beirman. She married Lloyd Stein, Jr. on September 10, 1955 and was married until her husband’s death in 2005.
Rose was a waitress for most of her adult life at various Madison restaurants. She spent the last years of her working life at Smokey’s Restaurant on University Avenue.
Rose is survived by sons Bruce (Lisa) Stein and Mark (Ginger) Stein, daughter Kathy (Dennis) McCain, and by grandchildren, Jennica Stein, Nick (Jess) Stein, Justin (Sasha) Frahm, Amanda (fiance’ Mark Richmond) Stein, Sam Stein, and Emily Stein. She is further survived by a sister Georgia (Jerry) Spataro-Brassard, a brother Joe Spataro, two great grandchildren, and many cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Dennis Stein, and brothers Tony Plescia, and twins Joe and Frank Spataro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH AT THE ST. JOSEPH CHURCH, 1905 W. Beltline Highway, Madison. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of Mass on Saturday at the church. Entombment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
