Obituary
Waunakee-Mary Matusek, age 92, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016. Mary was born in East Chicago, Indiana on June 18, 1923 to Peter and Anna Mancos.
Mary was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, Indiana in 1941. She married Tony Matusek on June 8, 1943. She was employed at Sinclair Oil in Whiting, Indiana for a number of years. Mary enjoyed spending time with family, reading and watching the Golden Girls. She enjoyed 35 years in Florida before moving to Madison four years ago.
Mary is survived by her sons Ken (Sally) Matusek and Marty (Lucy) Matusek, granddaughter Megan Matusek-Lamp (Josh Lamp), grandsons David and Steven Matusek and her sister Ronnie Franc. She was preceded in death by her husband Tony, daughter Tess, infant son John, parents Peter and Anna Mancos, sister Ann Kissela and brother Peter Mancos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Charles Schluter presiding.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg for their care and compassion shown to Mary during her time with them. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Agrace Hospice or St. Peter Catholic Church.
