Verona - Jeanette E. Balousek, age 96, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016. She was born on April 20, 1920 in Highland, WI to Albert and Angela (Hebgen) Johanning.
She married Robert Balousek in 1941 and had five children: Larry, Richard (Susie), Dale (Laurie), Sharon (Richard) O’Connor, and Thomas (Gail). She raised her family in Muscoda before moving to Verona in 1994. Jeanette was a religious instructor and a church volunteer for many years.
Jeanette is further survived by her 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Bette (Maurice) Mayer, James Johanning, Lucille Casper, and Della Mackus; her sister-in-law, Eleanora Johanning; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Albert and Angela; her sisters, Marie Reger, Albertha Fibikar, Bernadette Svacina, Elnore McCarthy Halverson, her two sisters who died in infancy, Loretta and Mary; and brothers, Ivan, Vincent, Leo, Joseph and William Johanning.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at ST. ANDREW’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 N. Main Street, Verona, with Father William Vernon presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Muscoda, WI.
Jeanette was a kind and loving person and will be missed by all who knew her.
