Eileen Drunasky Chvala, 88 died Monday, June 6th, 2016.
She was born September 12th, 1927, in Sun Prairie, WI., to Ernest and Hattie Drunasky. She was raised on a farm with sisters, hired hands, plants and animals. She was sent into the town of Sun Prairie to attend school. Eileen attended the University of Wisconsin Madison. She played clarinet in the UW Marching Band, and received a degree in Home Economics. It was on campus at the UW Newman Center where she met the decorated WWII veteran Joe Chvala. On October 20th, 1951 they were united in marriage.
She kept a tidy home and cooked nutritious meals. She nurtured their six children as she was ever present in their activities. Eileen was devoted to her faith, her practices for music, and different cultures and languages. Together, Joe and Eileen enjoyed travel, golf, and all around physical fitness. A trait Eileen upheld as she went forward in her adult life.
She is survived by five children, John (Cynthia) of Oak Park, IL., JoAnna (Howard) Meagle of Germantown, TN., Robert (Terry) of Seabrook, TX., Ellen (Sean) Arney of Madison and Carol of Madison; grandchildren, Ann Meagle of Saint Louis, MO., Kevin (Natalie) Meagle of Memphis, TN., Melissa Chvala of Oak Park, IL., Annabelle, Judith and Magnus Arney of Madison, WI., Lauren Wolf of Madison, WI; siblings, Rita (Otto) Beglinger of Brookfield, WI., Leona (Delano) Tjugum of Sun Prairie, WI., and Lucille Kreger of Oregon, WI.; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Francis Chvala on January 1st, 2000; and her daughter Kathleen Marie Chvala Pogran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 10th, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, with Msgr. Kenneth Fiedler officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
