Jerome Jordan

Madison - Holding hands with his daughter and son, and listening to Mozart, Jerome Anton Jordan, age 92, died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 22 at his home. “Jerry” was born December 7, 1923 in Madison, WI, to John Jordan and Laura “Holmes” Jordan. After graduating from Edgewood High School, he left for the West Coast, joined the Merchant Marines, and served in WWII in Alaska and the Pacific. He returned to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin and work in his father’s Monroe Street grocery store. He raised two children, Susan (Jordan) Hubbard (Robert T. Hubbard) Madison and Jeffrey Jordan (Julia Adams) - currently Madison. After retiring from many years as a butcher, he was a devoted grandpa.

In addition to his son and daughter, Jerry is survived by his grandchildren: Steven Hubbard (Terese) of Madison, Elizabeth Kepler (Kyle) of Mazomanie, Emily Huttenburg (Eric) of Madison, and Andrew Jordan of New Haven, Connecticut. He is also survived by his adored great grandchildren: Emma Hubbard, Channing Kepler, Ozur Kepler, Adeline Hubbard, Thias Huttenburg, and Seiler Huttenburg.

His grandchildren viewed him as steadfast in his devotion, reliability, and love. From hiding ice cream cones in his trunk at school pick-ups to making French Toast upon request he was always “glad you called.”

There’s only one you, Grandpa J. Now and Forever.

A private burial will be attended by Jerome’s children and grandchildren at his request.
