Obituary
Verona - Clinton P. Dahlk, age 73, passed away from cancer on Saturday, July 16 at Agrace Hospice surrounded by family. He was born April 5, 1943, the son of Lydia (Zurbuchen) and Harold Dahlk. He grew up on a farm in rural Verona and lived in the Verona area his entire life.
He was baptized and confirmed at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon. He was a graduate of Verona High School, class of 1961, where he participated in basketball, baseball and football.
He married Sue Leary on July 18, 1964. They had four children, Scott (Theresa) of Verona, Sheri (Eugene) Rudnicki of South Beloit, IL, Steve (Jody) of Ham Lake, MN, and Chad (Sadie) of Pleasant Prairie, WI,
He worked for Thermo-Fisher for 27 years, retiring in 2007. In his retirement years he was a Crossing Guard for the City of Verona. He truly loved the job and kids.
He was a loving Grandpa who followed his 10 grandkids (Travis, Jessica, Garrett Dahlk, Jacob, Joshua, Justin Rudnicki, Alex, Zach Dahlk, Hanna, Maddie Dahlk) and the activities they participated in. He was extremely proud of them and their accomplishments.
He was one of a group of people that started Verona Youth Hockey and the Verona Athletic Booster Club. He was a past member of the Edgewood Booster Club as well. Even in retirement he loved to follow local area sports teams.
He is further survived by his brothers; Harlan (Dorothy Schuepp ), Eugene, and Howard (Chris). His in-laws Jim Leary, Ron Leary, Bernie Leary (Darlene) and Linda Leary, several nieces and nephews, and a very close cousin who was like a brother, Douglas (Gail) Dahlk.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lydia and Harold, his mother in-law, Lola Moravec, father in-law Dennett Leary, sisters in-law Louanne Dahlk and Ardys Dahlk.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, from 4p.m.-7p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona. A Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Sara Raabe, will be held Wednesday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Zwingli United Church of Christ, 1338 Cty Tk Pb Belleville, WI, where he was a member. Burial will take place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Verona American Legion, 207 Legion St., following burial services.
