Terry Elizabeth Bakken, age 58, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at home with family by her side. Terry was born the daughter of Elisabeth Pankonin on March 13, 1958. Terry married Mike Bakken on June 18, 1983 in New Glarus. She worked at Meriter Hospital for over 30 years as a CNA and caregiver. She loved her position at Meriter, her family and friends. She enjoyed birds, animals and flowers.
Terry is survived by her husband, Mike and daughter, Lisa; the loves of her life; her mother, Elisabeth Pankonin and many cousins, friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Anna Wenger.
With faith in God and with gratitude that Terry’s long and well-fought fight with interstitial lung disease has ended; that her struggle for breath is over and that she is now in heaven’s peace, light and love.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Salem United Church of Christ, 501 Mark Drive, Verona with Rev. Dr. Mark Yurs officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 12 noon until time of service.
