Eileen Pickett

MADISON- Eileen E. Pickett, age 88, was welcomed home to the Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. She was born on November 9, 1927 to Mathew and Josephine (Siepker) Loring in Platteville, WI. Eileen was the 6th of 10 children. After graduating from Darlington High School, she moved to Madison to attend Madison Business College. In the fall of 1947 she married the love of her life, Raymond E. Pickett of Darlington. Ray and Eileen were married for 54 wonderful years and were blessed with 9 children.

Eileen is survived by 7 of her children who love her dearly; Gary (Kathy), Lee (Denise Allen), Scott (Kathleen), Larry, Mary (Dave) Copper, Tom, Marlene (Troy) Pauls; 16 cherished grandchildren; Shane (Kerry) Pickett, Tammy Pickett, Wendy (Dan) DaDalt, Brad (Melissa) Pickett, Amanda (Luke) Huston, Matthew (Cara) Pickett, Emmy (Taggart)Johnston, Scot (Nikki) Uttech, Tina Collins, Michael Mons, Michael (Cathryn) Copper, Tammi Copper, Sherri (Matt) Hebert, Lynn (Rory) Rynning, Robbie Pickett, Michelle (Ben) McCabe and Joseph and Regan Pauls; 19 precious great grandchildren, special nephew Kevin Loring, beloved daughters -in-law Jane Pickett, Shari Pickett and one sister Bernadine (Emil) Lauber.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, sons Jim and Jack, daughter-in-law Debbie, grandson Jesse, five sisters and three brothers.

Eileen was a stay at home mom for many years before going to work selling Dutchmaid clothing and later, Amway products. She was a natural in these positions as she loved meeting new people and visiting with customers who quickly became friends. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for 65 years and loved making "Eileen's Heavenly Chocolate Sauce" for the annual church bazaar. She was an extraordinary woman who would listen intently and guide with her gentle words. Mom, you will be missed more than we can say. You will always be in our hearts!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2131 Rowley Ave., Madison with Fr. Simon-Felix Michalski, O.P. officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Joyce-Ryan Funeral Home, 5701 Odana Road, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. and also from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday at the church. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
