Alberta Fassbind

Verona – Alberta J. “Allie” Fassbind, age 88, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Four Winds Nursing Home in Verona. She was born on January 18, 1928 in Madison, the daughter of Albert and Loretta (Thurber) Miller. Alberta graduated from Central High School in 1946. She married her husband Carl Fassbind in a double wedding with her twin sister on June 4, 1949 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

She was a member of the Choir at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Verona, and a very active member of the community, including volunteering her time towards Verona Days, Four Winds and St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was also on a Bowling League.

Alberta is survived by her brother Don and his wife Clancy of Davis, CA., and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents; sister Beverly and her husband John Durkin; twin sister, Roberta Frei; brother, Allan and his wife Carol Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at ST. ANDREW CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 N. Main Street, Verona, with Father William Vernon presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Madison.
