Fernando Torres

Madison - Fernando Torres, age 73, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, at his home in Madison due to Pancreatic Cancer and other health complications.

Fernando was born on September 9, 1942 to Roberto and Alicia Torres in Santa Maria, TX. He was raised by his grandparents, Fernando and Victoria Torres. As a young adult, he met and married Francisca Pena and they had one son, Pablo. He drove trucks for a living and, after moving to Madison in the 1960's, he became a Madison Metro bus driver. Fernando was a quiet, social person and met and made many friends while driving the buses and living in the Madison area. It seemed that anywhere he went he would run into people he knew. He assisted many people in finding jobs and homes in the Madison area, and if you needed help he was there to give what he could.

Fernando Torres was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Francisca, and his son, Pablo. He is survived by his grandson, Roberto, three step-children and many grand and great- grandchildren. We thank God for the time we had with him and we rejoice in knowing he is Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at CALVARY GOSPEL CHURCH, 5301, COMMERCIAL AVE, MADISON, WI. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. until the time of service.
