Janice Constans

Madison – On August 8, 2016, while surrounded by her loving daughters, God came to get Mom, Janice M. Constans, age 89, and take her to see Dad (Bill), her mother (Julia) , her dad (Martin), her son Michael, who died at birth, and all the other friends and relatives who had gone before her. She had valiantly lived with COPD and macular degeneration for several years, always fighting to remain healthy.

Mom was raised in Blue Earth, MN by her loving parents. She married Dad on August 7, 1948. They were married 55 years until his death in 2003. They raised three daughters, who she loved dearly; Julie (Rodney) Bosserdet and their sons Michael and Stephen, Barb (Deb Rohde) and Pat.

Mom worked for many years as an executive secretary, first at St. Mary’s Hospital and then at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay from where she retired in 1994 at the age of 67. After her retirement Mom’s primary focus was being dad’s caregiver until his death, when she moved to Madison to be near her daughters. She loved her job and took great pride in working hard to be the best secretary possible. Mom and dad used the income from her job to assure all three of their girls attended college.

Mom enjoyed camping with her family, reading at the bottom of the ski hill while the others skied and making sure that her home was a wonderful place for her family. She loved a good cup of coffee, Kringle, Progressive Radio, riding her exercise bicycle, and watching the flowers grow next to her pond. She was a kind, loving Mom who wanted a better world for her children and grandchildren. She will be forever missed and we know she’ll be waiting by the Rainbow Bridge to welcome us all when we meet again.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday the 27th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorials be made to Agrace HospiceCare of Madison, the Olbrich Botanical Society, or the Macular Degeneration Association.
