Patricia Martinelli

Verona WI– Patricia Marie Martinelli, 75, passed away at home after a battle with cancer on August 9th, 2016. She was born in Madison on September 11, 1940, the daughter of Chester Brandt and Beatrice Brandt (Wold). Patricia was a graduate of Monona Grove High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Emil Peter Martinelli on May 1, 1965.

Patricia worked as a secretary for Donald Gill-C.P.A, and she helped develop Family Respite Care for parents of Special needs children. She also worked in the Madison School District as a Special Education Assistant.

Patricia enjoyed softball, volleyball, bowling, and dancing. She housed numerous foster children, and volunteered at various food pantries

She is survived by her sons, Anthony E. (Cindy) Martinelli, and Tom Martinelli, her granddaughters, Kimberly Batker-Kemper, Madison Martinelli, and Kennedy Martinelli; her siblings, Jerry Brandt, Vicki Friedeck, Joyce Kosbau, and Kathy Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Martinelli; sons, Tim and Gary; parents, Chester and Beatrice Brandt; and brother, Gordy Brandt.

Special thanks to Angie Fitzsimmons (foster daughter) for her personal care and love of her mother, Pat, in her last week’s up to the end. Thank you as well to Robin O’Dell-Blizzard, Pam Batker, Jill Batker, Laurel Trainor, and to Agrace Hospice for all their wonderful care, time and help.

Pat was a person of infinite patience and devotion to her husband, children, family, friends, work, and to everyone’s quality of life in general. Thank you for all of your sacrifices!

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016, at ST. JAMES LUTHERAN CHURCH, 427 S. Main St., Verona. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
