Obituary
Madison – Mary E. Klinkner, age 94, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016. She was born on October 27, 1921 in Madison, Wis., the daughter of John and Mildred (Lucey) DeBeck. She attended grade school at St. Bernard’s School, and graduated from Madison East High School, Class of 1939. Mary (affectionately called Baby Duck by Henry) married Henry Klinkner on June 24, 1943, in the Camp Chaffie Chapel, Fort Smith, Arkansas. For 40 years, the family was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Madison, and later became a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison.
Mary was a stay-at-home mom, raising 10 children. After Henry’s retirement, she worked part-time at Ponderosa Steak House for 10 years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and bingo. Mary looked forward to spending many enjoyable times at the Goodman Center and Wilmar Center.
She is survived by her 10 children, Conrad, Redondo Beach, Ca., Dave (Sherry), Fitchburg, Wis., Sue (Tom) Parker, Waunakee, Wis., Barb, Bob (Donna), Madison, Wis., Sara (Steve) Stork, Bellevue, Wa., Pat (Kathleen), Madison, Wis., Greg (Kim), Pardeeville, Wis., Joe (Patti), Roselle, IL., and Jeff (Beth), Cottage Grove, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Hunter; sister-in-law, Mary DeBeck; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, John DeBeck, and a daughter in infancy (Susan).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, with Father Randy Timmerman officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. A luncheon to follow Mass. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery following lunch.
