JoAnn Chandler, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Karmenta Nursing Home. She was born on January 25, 1925 in Madison, the daughter of Frank and Charlotte (Heimick) Johnson. She graduated from Madison East High School. JoAnn retired from the UW-Extension Payroll Department. In her free time JoAnn enjoyed quilting and watching her favorite show, Jeopardy.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicky (Jim) Burse; two grandsons, Jeff (Tanya) Mast and Shawn Mast; two nieces, Jan (John) Langan and Jill (Ken) Morris; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Don Chandler and her brother, Bill (Betty) Johnson.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Karmenta Nursing Home, the staff at Heartland Hospice and the staff at UW Hospital and Clinics.
Memorials may be made in her name to Heartland Hospice.
