Scott Cotillier

DANE/MADISON- Scott A. “Scottie” Cotillier, age 57, passed away on October 17, 2016, peacefully at Agrace with family and friends around him. Scott was born November 19, 1958, in Duluth, Minnesota, and moved to Madison in 1971 where he was a devoted “Northsider.” Scott attended East High School and joined the Marines. He then began what he liked to do the most, WORK.

Scott would do any kind of hard work but his real joy was roofing. Scott’s illness took this way from him and it was a very hard and trying time for him. Scott was an amazing man, dad, brother, son, grandpa, friend, coworker, and athlete, but most of all he was real. Scott was the companion, soul mate and best friend to Jeana Lawler. They were very connected and loved each other endlessly. Jeana will miss him so much but will be happy that he is now in peace without pain. Scott will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren, whom he loved unconditionally.

Survivors include his children, Brandon (Sarah), Breann, Holly and Kady (Bob); grandchildren, Treyson, Aubrea, Carmelo, Alijah and Jada; extended family, Jarrod; and his many cats.

Scott wanted to thank Nathan Berg for being a hangout buddy during his illness and to the Lawler family for always including him as one of their own through many years.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave. A celebration of his life will follow at the Willows Tavern on Hwy M. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Jeana Lawler.

Scott was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
