Ellen M. McElmurry, 77, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2016. She was born April 9, 1939 in Madison to C.A. (Mac) and Elsie (Van Dalsem) McElmurry. She graduated in 1957 from Madison East High School. She worked many years as a CNA at University of Wisconsin Hospital. During her life, her passions included travel, photography, genealogy, baking, sewing and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church and regularly attended East Madison Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brothers, Donald (Joyce) of Portland, OR, Robert of Bolivia, Brian (Nancy) of Moundsview, MN; her sister, Kathryn of Madison; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Marian and Nancy.
A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at EAST MADISON BAPTIST CHURCH, 4917 Milwaukee Street, Madison, with Rev. Bob Ray officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to East Madison Baptist Church or to Samaritan’s Purse.
