Madison - Sadly we must finally bid adieu to James F. Dunn, beloved brother, uncle, friend, and international man of mystery (to which those beguiling Dos Equis commercials of decades past were based upon). He was taken from us suddenly while celebrating his 29th birthday. Smiling for the camera with all guests…never one to disappoint… Those of you in attendance are asked to contact the Pope if you have a photo of the soiree that captures the image of St. Peter, St. Patrick, or Janis Joplin in the background, as it is not certain when our dear James “left” the gathering. A handsome prince of a man…to be missed most certainly.
Jim, age 87, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016. Jim was born on April 24, 1929 in Madison to James and Vivian (Felton) Dunn. He graduated from St. James, West High and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jim spent his career in the investment banking business and was a partner in the California Tax Exempt Bond Fund of San Francisco for 35 years. Jim is survived by one brother, Robert A. Dunn of Verona, five nieces, Colleen Dunn Dubin (Michael), Judy Buckley (Bob), Sarah Dunn, Jean Petry Jones (Gregg), Jannice Petry Handler (Roger), and one nephew, Robert P. Dunn (Julie). Jim’s two sisters, Rosemary and Frances Dunn predeceased him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2016 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 South Owen Drive in Madison with Msgr. Kenneth Fiedler presiding.
