Obituary
MADISON – Mary Sue Berschens, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Mary Sue was born on August 31, 1948 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI to John and Helene (Wolff) Berschens. She grew up on Madison’s west side, near Glenway and Zwerg Dr. She attended Lowell Elementary and graduated from Madison East High School. Mary Sue was employed in the Community Relations Department at St. Mary’s Hospital and proudly retired in December 2013 after 47 years of service. She was a life-time member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. She loved to reminisce about her travels to Hawaii, Switzerland, Ireland, Mexico, Las Vegas, Arizona, Colorado, and California. Mary Sue took great pleasure in watching TV shows from the 60’s and 70’s. She loved to visit with her neighbors at The Waterford and former co-workers at St. Mary’s. Mary Sue had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mary Sue is survived by her four sisters, Julie (Jim) Endres, Kathy (Don) Schara, Maureen (Ken) Stoeger, and Rita (Robert) Malinowski; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey (Patty) Endres, Jennifer (Ken) Zerba, Jason (fiancé Suzie Kulevich) Malinowski, Kendra Malinowski, and Alicia (Ryan) Forrer; great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Evan, Ella, and Katelyn; aunt, Mary Wanless. She is also survived by the Vinje and Feeney family cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Timothy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr., Madison. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time of Mass on Tuesday at the church. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
