Jack Perkl

MCFARLAND – Jack E. Perkl, age 79, reunited with the love of his life on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Jack was born July 18, 1937 in Madison to Edward and Alice Perkl. He grew up on the East Side of Madison attending St. Bernard’s and East High School. Jack joined the Marines after high school. When he returned from serving, he married Kay Rodefeld on June 14, 1958, the day after her high school graduation. Jack started out as a mechanic at Kayser Ford and later finished his career at Ohio Medical after 29 years. He was a man of few words, but led by example. According to his coworkers he was quite a prankster. He participated in many sports including McFarland Home Talent Baseball, which he played in to his 40’s and was an avid golfer. Many hours were spent by Lake Waubesa, fishing and enjoying the lake. Jack was a fan of the Badgers, Packers, Brewers, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s activities. He especially enjoyed days at their pool. More than anything he was proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments.

Jack is survived by his children, Kelly (Richard) Hayden, and David (Deb); grandchildren, Jonathan, Laura, Matthew, Nicholas, Lucas, and Jack; siblings, Mary Mulcahy, Bob (Judy), and Don; sister-in-law, Virginia. Further survived by Kay’s siblings, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by Kay, his wife of 57 years; brothers, Edward, and Roman; friend and brother-in-law, Delbert Seifert.

Friends and family are invited to join us in a celebration of Jack’s life on Saturday, January, 21, 2017 from NOON until 3:00 PM at MAPLE TREE SUPPER CLUB, 6010 US Highway 51, McFarland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be put towards a scholarship in his name at McFarland High School. The family would like to thank Dr. Toby Campbell and Heidi, his nurse from Hospice, for their guidance and care.
