Norma Jean Venden, age 94, died at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, August 9, 2017. She was born October 17, 1922 in Cottage Grove, the daughter of the late James A. and Nora (Gladem) Knudtson.
Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend to many. She lived through the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl in North Dakota.
She is survived by two sons, Stanley (Bonnie), Ron (Marie); eight grandchildren, Allen, Mark (Kori), Amy (Todd) Amell, Tammy (Tom) Sias, Mike (Andrea,) Jim (Sharon), Steve (Chris) and Tina; seven great grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a brother-in-law, Norman Venden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Judy; grandsons, Timothy and Jeffery; and two sisters, Selma and Helen.
The family is grateful to Agrace HospiceCare for their help keeping Norma at home.
A Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at ST. JAMES LUTHERAN CHURCH, 427 South Main Street, Verona, with Rev. Kurt Billings officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
