Gary Waldhart

I know this is late but I just came across the obit. Back in the mid 80's I met Gary and his brother Lee thru a mutual friend. We used to play touch football in the soccer fields behind University hospital. Gary and Lee were great people and we always had a great time. I enjoyed gary and Lee getting into their brotherly shouting matches but they always made up after the game over a chesseburger and a beer. I recently came across a Polaroid picture of Gary, Lee, Abdul and Kim and myself sharing a moment together after a hard fought game. Oh how I miss those day. To Lee and the rest of Gary's family may you find comfort in this little muse. Those were the days!

Hello to the wife, kids, family, friends and employees of Gary. I worked for Gary from approx. 1991 until 1996. He was a soft spoken and very soothing, caring, comforting, encouraging, positive bosses anyone could ever ask for! I loved my job and loved working for Gary & Bob although I became ill for part of that time. Gary was an angel and financially helped me get thru this time where I could not work for almost a year. I could not ever thank him enough for that!! I did not know what was wrong going from doctor to doctor and after quite sometime finally figure it out. During that time he encouraged me once I started to feel a slightly better I would start to work a few hours from home and eventually more and more as time went on. I did not want to leave AMS but it was time for a change is all. I am forever grateful for the example he set as a very positive, professional, fair and caring example he set for all his employees. Sadly, I have been thinking of Gary all these years often and wanted to call or visit or send a card to express to him how thankful I was that he helped me out so much during a tough time in my life and was very paitent, kind and understanding! Thank God because I don't know how I would have supported myself. Tonight I was searching about to send Gary a huge thank you and I see he has passed. I'm beyond sad I could not thank him and to tell him I am now paying forward with one of my employees who became ill with cancer and I helped support her and helped the family financially with expenses before and after her passing. I will continue to pay it forward in Garys name and I will be forever grateful for having to have known such a wonderful person in my life. I did visit him maybe a couple years before he retired and he still wanted to hire me back! I so wish I could have that last laugh with him. He and Lee were hilarious together making us all laugh! Thanks Gary! You were a Gem of a guy! Totally exemplary! I'm again so sorry to see he has passed and will love to reach out to his fun brother Lee and his family.
