Peter Weinkoetz

MADISON – Peter John Weinkoetz, age 73, was reunited with his beloved parents on Monday, October 2, 2017. Peter was born on November 27, 1943 in Madison, WI to Pete and Kathleen (Farrell) Weinkoetz. He grew up in the Erin Street neighborhood and attended grade school at St. James Catholic Grade School and Edgewood High School. Peter graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, IA . He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1968 until 1970. While residing with his parents on Erin Street, Peter was beloved by many of his handyman customers and also worked for many years in the maintenance department at St. Raphael’s Cathedral. Peter loved reading his Bible and was a daily Mass attendee at St. James Catholic Church as well as St. Mary’s Hospital Chapel. He made many friends while attending Mass and volunteering at St. James and other organizations. He was well liked in the neighborhood of Erin and Orchard Streets near Vilas Park. Peter was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.

Peter is survived by his siblings, Wayne (Patricia) and Jayne (Ray) Stark; nieces and nephew, Julie Creus; Michael Stark, and Beth Stark; great nieces and nephews, Olivia and Liam; Jay and Lolli; and Arthur and Hugo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Kathleen.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH AT THE ST. JAMES CHURCH, 1128 St. James Court, Madison, at 11am on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. A visitation will be held at the church from 10am until time of Mass on Wednesday. Burial was held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
