It is with heavy hearts we share that Sherry Rae Chavez, age 60, of Madison, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 9, 2017. She was born May 6, 1957 in Oconomowoc, the daughter of George and Sylvia Diana (Hessone) Godfroy. She married Salvador C. Chavez and together they raised five children. Her family will remember her happy nature and pure heart. She forgave easily no matter what, and was a kind, soft-hearted and loving wife and mother. Her kids and grandkids meant the world to her.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Salvador; her five children and fourteen grandchildren, Diana (Francisco) Fabian and their children, Diana, Sarah, Jonathan, Emily and Irene; Johnny (Nicole) Rangel and their children, Valic and Aubriana; Sylvia (Huber) Ortiz and their children, Erik, Anthony and Daisy; Salvador, Jr. (Yuliana) Chavez and their children, Jenny and Joseph; Jesse (Selene) Chavez and children, Hannah and Jesse, Jr.; and siblings, Guy Godfroy, Debra Fernandez, Gary Godfroy and Anne Perez.
She was preceded in death by her parents and little brother, Daniel.
We were blessed to have her in our lives. She is gone, but not forgotten and will forever be in our hearts.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue with Fr. Manuel Mendez presiding.
