Obituary
DeForest - Claire J. Dougherty, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Oak Park Place, Madison WI. She was born in Monroe, WI on March 5, 1927, the daughter of Joseph H. & Marie A. Jenny. She was united in marriage to the late James F. Dougherty on November 19, 1949. Claire was a machinist at Ohio Medical and farmed with her husband Jim for many years near Norway Grove, WI. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Claire was gifted at quilting, cross stich, crocheting and cooking. As a product of the depression, she never wasted a thing and her work ethic was unparalleled.
She is survived by children Steven C. (Pepi) Dougherty, Harrison, OH; Ross (Diana) Dougherty, Stoughton, WI; Cheryl Dougherty (Sean Donnelly), San Lorenzo, CA; Vern (Judy) Dougherty, Oconomowoc, WI; and daughter-in-law, Marybeth Medernach, Philadelphia, PA. Ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and brother Clarence (Delores) Jenny.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, son J. Greg Dougherty her brother Henry Jenny and sister’s Gladys Ballard and Bertha Jenny.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 623 Jefferson St., DeForest with Father Vincent Brewer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Catholic Cemetery.
