Madison – Clara A. McConnell, age 87, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Waunakee Manor. She was born in Evanston, Illinois, on October 28, 1930, the daughter of Andrew and Jessie (Monts) Miller. Clara was married to Edward McConnell on August 28, 1953 in Evanston, Illinois. She enjoyed participating in scrabble clubs and she also bowled in many Madison area bowling leagues.
Clara is survived by her children, Charles McConnell, Patrick (Rebecca) McConnell and Brian (Patricia) McConnell; grandchildren, Becky, Jessica, Jennifer, Jill, Carolynn, Crystal, Patrick, Holly, Amber, Robert and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew, Kathryn, Cameron, Cody, Carley, Casey, Calista, Faith, Brianna, Cameron, Kaiya, Cayden, Nora, Kylah, Peyton, Catherine, Alexander and Clara; great-great-grandchild, Cashlin; siblings, Paul (Mary) Smith and Joan (Vaughan) Voecks; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward McConnell in 2003; her daughter, Joan Bennett in 2007; and her sister, Kathryn in 2003.
A Funeral Service will be held at 7pm on Monday, November 20, 2017 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, with Rev. Lloyd Biddle presiding. A visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 12pm.
