Obituary
DEFOREST-Mildred M. Lavallee, age 93 passed away peacefully on December 8, 2017 of congestive heart failure. Mildred was born on March 13, 1924 in Cicero Illinois to the late Edward and Stella Marquardt. She graduated high school in 1942 and started to work at the local telephone company. Mildred was united in marriage to Raymond Lavallee on January 26, 1946. Mildred and Raymond had 2 sons, Raymond Jr. and Edward and later located to DeForest, WI. Mildred worked for Demco Printing in DeForest from 1963 until her retirement in 1989.
Mildred enjoyed crocheting, reading, working her crossword puzzles, working at the DeForest Senior Center with friends Lynn, Ursi, Wayne and the center’s staff, until finally retiring for good in October of 2017, and most of all, being with her family. Mildred would always say that all of her family could fit around a dining room table, and they did. Every birthday and every holiday was celebrated around the table.
Mildred is survived by the joys of her life, her two sons, Raymond (Karen) Lavallee of Wyocena, WI and Edward (Bonnie) Lavallee of DeForest, WI. She is further survived by her grandchildren Raymond (Heidi), Tara and Craig as well as her great-grandchildren, RJ, Hayli, Skylar, Taylor and Melanie.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond, her parents, both brothers, in-laws, daughter-in-law Elaine and many other family and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Columbus hospital doctors and nurses, especially Stacey, Amanda and Heidi, visiting nurses and therapists that came to her home and Pat Kinnaird who was a great neighbor to Mildred for 13 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at ST. OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson St., DeForest, with Father Vincent Brewer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest and also from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Wednesday.
