Ruby Charlotte Catterall, age 95, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at McFarland Villa. She was born on April 21, 1922 in Peoria, Illinois, the oldest of seven children to Anton and Garnett (Miller) Schaffer. She was married to Arthur Catterall on April 28, 1945 in Peoria. Arthur preceded her in death on April 4, 2002.
Ruby had a variety of work experiences, her favorites were Market Square Cheese in WI Dells and lead cook in the canteen at Madison Veteran’s Hospital. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Veteran’s Hospital and the UW Dialysis Clinic while Arthur was a patient. She was a genuine greeter and loved to talk to people. Ruby was humorous, loved to tell stories and made everyone laugh!
She is survived by her sons, John (Connie) and Mike (Judy) Catterall; grandsons, Tam (Jackie), Cory and Ian (Jolene) Catterall, Jason Bock and Ben Catterall; granddaughter, Nina Catterall; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Kaitlyn, Tristan, Nicoletta, Bailey, Mason, Chase and Casey.
Ruby loved her family and she was always happy to see those who loved her. We were grateful for her 95 years of life. Ruby’s family is particularly thankful to the staff at McFarland Vila assisted living center for their care, Care Wisconsin and Heartland Hospice for care in her final days.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
