Wallace H. “Wally” Schutz, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home. He was born on May 17, 1939, the son of Ervin and Margaret (Roberts) Schutz of Leeds, WI. Wally enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard in 1958 and was a full time federal technician. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 after over 20 years of service. He married Maida Cimino on October 27, 1973 in Poynette, WI. Wally was a proud owner-operator of his semi which he drove for 27 years.
Wally had a huge heart filled with love for both family and friends. Throughout his life he remained devoted to flag and country. He loved attending family reunions and rarely missed his grandchildren’s activities. Wally was always ready to raise a glass with his buddies. He and Maida enjoyed many adventures with friends, especially with Bunk and Elaine Riley. He was an active member of Christ LutheranChurch, DeForest, where he enjoyed fellowship, bible study and especially the coffee and donuts. His smile, his laughter and his hugs will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maida; his children, Scott (Margaret) Schutz, Robin Kaltenberg, Jennifer Schutz and Jessica (Brian) Wagner; seven grandchildren, Brandi Jo, Cody, Tanya, Alexis, Micheal, Justyne and Ariana; siblings, Robert (Edna) Schutz, Sandra Radewan and Margo (Peter) Holzman; special cousin, Marge Kukuwich; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Martin and Kelly; former wife, Geraldine Femrite; and siblings, Harold Schutz and Catherine “Joan” Woodward.
The family would like to thank the DeForest and Sun Prairie Fire Rescue, Police and EMS teams for their efforts and compassion.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church, 220 S. Main Street, DeForest with Rev. Sue Beadle officiating.
