Obituary
Madison – Richard Allyn “Al” Bauer, age 75, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. He was born in Plain on December 22, 1942, the son of Anthony and Stella (Richards) Bauer. Al graduated from Spring Green High School in 1961, where he excelled in sports. He married Maxine Schutz in Plain on June 22, 1963. He retired from Oscar Mayer after 39 years of employment in 2000. Al and Maxine were charter members of St. Peter Catholic church.
Al was an avid Badgers, Brewers, and Packers fan, he loved bowling and most importantly, hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand by the many he helped in the community and at church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maxine; his children, Brad (Cindy) Bauer, Rhonda (Rick) Rolli, and Scott (Sheri) Bauer; his grandchildren, Chelsea and Hunter Bauer, Racheal and Nathan Rolli, and Sterling, Skylar and Sierra Bauer; his siblings, Carol (Rudy) Ringelstetter and Bob (Marlyn) Bauer; and his cat companion, Haddie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, Madison with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., St. Peter Catholic Church, or the charity of your choice.
