Obituary
Carol Ann Deyo, age 60, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at University Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1957 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Erwin) Deyo. Carol was employed as an Office and Copier Technician, which utilized her natural mechanical abilities and problem solving skills. Prior to this endeavor, she worked at Ripon Good Cookies.
Carol embraced all it meant to be a homeowner. She took pride in her home purchase and taught herself plumbing, electrical and general maintenance. Her natural artistic side came out in all the work she did including; painting the interior and exterior of her home, refinishing and repurposing furniture and antiques, and gardening. She loved nature and the outdoors and would often find serene places to walk her dog. She also enjoyed cross country skiing, taking her siblings to the beach, hiking Devil’s Lake, and taking day trips. She was spontaneous, recounting times when she took off to different destinations on a whim in her Jeep or truck. When at home, she enjoyed baking sweets to share with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Charisma (Greg Hansen) Deyo-Sonntag, granddaughter Eloise Hansen and Greg’s son Robbie Hansen of Appleton,WI; honorary daughter, Michelle (Carey) White; siblings Dennis Deyo of Green Lake, WI, Peggy (Harold) Gruber of Baraboo, WI, Dixie Garske of Portage, WI Rodney (Sue Puttkamer) Deyo of Baraboo, WI, Becky (Tom) Griffin of Lakeville, MN , Samuel Deyo of Portage, WI, Tom (Sara) Deyo of Baraboo, WI, Cathy Schadde of Grafton, WI , Patti (Roger) Halverson of Verona,WI, Connie (Jason) Bisch of Baraboo, WI , Terry (fiancée Michelle Carpenter Jackson) Deyo of Baraboo, WI, Brian (Erika) Deyo of Sartell, MN, and Curtis(Roberta Wilson) Deyo of Baraboo, WI; 28 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Delvin Deyo, and niece, Michelle Griffin.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Elo Church of the Nazarene, Elo, WI with Rev. Judith Lipp officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church with luncheon to follow.
