Obituary
MADISON/LA CROSSE – Jeanne Marie Mueller, age 91, reunited with her beloved husband, Robert, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Jeanne was born in La Crosse, WI on July 5, 1926 where she lived until 1952. She married the love of her life, Robert Mueller on April 17, 1947. Jeanne’s home was her refuge and her family the center of her life. She loved water color, creating hundreds of paintings, many of which she gave to others. Her Irish heritage was especially dear to her. She and Bob traveled to Ireland 17 times. Many of her paintings were of Ireland and other places they visited in Europe. Also, she loved to bake cookies and cakes, gifting them to everyone else. Most knew her as Nana, a loving presence.
Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Dennis) Ostrem and Suzanne (John) Verhelst; grandchildren, Scott (Janice) Ostrem, Shelley (Todd) Williams, Eric (Mary) Ostrem, Jon (Bridget) Ostrem, Jason (Paige) Verhelst, Robert (Nicole) Verhelst, and Michael; great grandchildren, Evan, Ryan, Madison, Rosie, Sammy, Lucy, Frankie, Alexa, Maya, Noah, Avery, and Payton; brother, Edward (Marilyn) Murphy; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; and dearest friend, John Englund. She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Stephen; and 6 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, Madison. A visitation to take place from 9am until time of Mass on Tuesday at the church.
The family would like to thank Station Two fire crew, the UW Hospital orthopedic team, Agrace Hospice, and Jeanne’s long time friend, Bev Kneebone, all who gave her compassionate care.
