Obituary
MADISON - Arleen A. Clayton, age 93, passed away August 22, 2018. Arleen was born on March 20, 1925 in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bartel and Christine (Markussen) Johnson. On May 5, 1951 she married Donald H. Clayton. They moved to Madison in 1953. Arleen was a bookkeeper at her husband’s store, Don’s Photo Center. After they retired, they traveled many places in their motorhome. Arleen also enjoyed working in her garden.
She is survived by her children, Gail Clayton of Madison; Dennis Clayton of Fitchburg and Randy (Sharon) Clayton of Waterloo; four grandchildren; Scott, Kim and Tyler Clayton and Keri (Joe) Manion; a sister, Shirley Yoder of Midlothian, Virginia; sister-in-law Marian Paynter of Darlington, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (April 14, 2002); her parents; and a brother, Willis Petersen.
The family wishes to thank Sienna Crest Memory Care at Fort Atkinson and Rainbow Hospice, Jefferson, WI for their care of our mother. Memorials may be made to Lakeview Lutheran Church or Rainbow Hospice.
