Katharine “Katy” Jean Guanella passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2018 at age 95. She was born April 5, 1923 to Louis and Sophia Guanella. Katharine is survived by a sister-in-law, Jeanette Guanella and many nieces and nephews. Katy was an avid reader who enjoyed a long life filled with adventures large and small. She loved to travel and spent many happy hours behind the wheel of her VW Beetles. Katy loved twisty mountain roads and all aspects of nature – from snowcapped mountains and bright fall colors to all the animals living among them – especially polar bears! She had an active mind and never stopped questioning and learning. Katy spent her life helping friends and relatives and lending support whenever needed. She never stopped being delighted by all the simple, enjoyable parts of life and the world around her. We can honor her by doing the same.
