MADISON/DEFOREST - Robert “Bob” Cotter, age 69, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019. He was born in Plymouth, WI on July 18, 1949 to parents, Roger and Shirley (Juers) Cotter. Robert “Bob” was a 1967 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts Education from UW Stout. Bob married Donna Truax on February 10, 1973 in Millburn, IL. Their union was blessed with two sons and and later three grandchildren.
Bob was a hard worker and he loved his job of 36 years as a copier repairman. Bob was an active member of the Lord of Love Lutheran Church in DeForest and enjoyed helping on the maintenance and mowing committees. He enjoyed watching football and was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan. He also loved motorcycling, camping, bowling, shooting trap, watching movies and airplanes, as well as attending Sci-Fi conventions and air shows. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and he loved his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Chris (Heather) and Sean; grandchildren, Flynn, Keeli and Sullivan; sisters, Jean (Charles) Flunker and Ann Cotter; nephew, Richard Flunker; niece, Beth Luedtke. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Donald and Louise (Jones) Truax; and a nephew, Daniel Flunker.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at LORD OF LOVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 105 Paradise Circle, DeForest. Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest and again on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
