Bruce Elliott

Madison - Bruce Chester Elliott, age 91, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 2, 1932, to Chester and Lilly (Keller) in Bear Valley, WI. Bruce proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Bruce married Joan Pulvermacher on August 6, 1951, at St. Boniface in Lime Ridge. Joan considered Bruce to be the love of her life and the biggest sweetheart.

Bruce worked at Oscar Mayer for over 40 years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, coaching, and watching his kids and grandchildren play ball. Bruce was a gentle and kind man with a big heart.

Bruce is survived by his wife; children, Deb (Gary) Schaeffer, Steve (Teri) Elliott, Rick (Janine) Elliott, Colleen (Bill) Fraser, Amy (Justin) Fischer; grandchildren, Alex (Erin) Elliott, Brienna (Taylor) Nixon, Coleman (Kate) Fraser and five great grandchildren; step-grandchildren Shane Spoerle and Travis (Alexandra) Spoerle; sisters-in-law, Shirley, and Judy Elliott along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Dennis (Alice) Elliott, Floyd (Dorothy) Elliott, Willis (Marie) Elliott, Harold (Jeanette) Elliott, Hilda (Delmar) Sumwalt, Wilford (Charlotte) Elliott, Leo Elliott, and Chester “Chet” Elliott.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison and then again at church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment and Military Honors will be held at Highland Memory Garden in Madison.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace Hospice or St. Peter Catholic Church.
