Obituary
Carrie “Vi” Viola (O’Dell) Keller, age 94, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Oakwood Village Meadows in Madison, WI. She was surrounded by family, with her dog by her side. She was born on December 7, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and N. Lucille (McKenzie) O’Dell.
Carrie married Raymond “Ray” Keller in 1949 at the United Brethren Church in Batavia, Ohio. After first residing in Michigan, she and Ray moved to Madison in 1955. Carrie worked part time for the Madison School District, substituting in offices at multiple schools. For many years, she also coordinated substitute assignments at the district office. Carrie loved to play Bridge, hunt and fish with Ray, and travel. She set foot on all seven continents. She cherished her summer lake home in Northern Wisconsin and spending time with her family and her beloved dog.
Carrie is survived by her children, Phyllis (Robert) Gil of Colorado, Barbara (Ken) Graetz of Minnesota, David (Ken) Keller of California; grandchildren, Nick and Nathan Graetz, and Luke and Aaron Feiner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Nettie Peters, and her husband Ray.
The family would like to thank the staff, caretakers, and hospice team at Oakwood for the incredible care she received.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
