Obituary
Virginia D. “Gina” Worthington, age 100, died on August 17, 2021 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam, WI. She was born on June 30, 1921 in Davenport, IA to parents, Logan and Jessie (Boston) Dodds.
During her formative years she lived in Cedar Rapids, IA. She graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1939 and received a BA from Grinnell College in 1943. She also attended Carthage College in Kenosha.
Virginia "Gina" married Jack L. Worthington in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Gina worked as a claims adjustor at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Chicago, IL and an English teacher at Bradford High School in Kenosha. She was a Kenosha resident for 25 years before moving to Perrysburg, OH from 1975-1999. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She moved to Sun Prairie in 2000 then to DeForest in 2004, where she was a member of UCC Church in Windsor and a member of PEO Sisterhood, Chapter EK.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne Worthington of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Peter Hupf of Beaver Dam, Stacey (Mike) Post of Beaver Dam and Jessica (Brian) Wickersham of Beaver Dam; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Post, Lillian and Ava Wickersham, all of Beaver Dam.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son, Gary (Sharon) Worthington.
