Obituary
Frederick Arthur “Fritz” Halverson age 91 passed away on December 22, 2023 after suffering a severe stroke. He was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin, the oldest of Clarence and Maureen (Jewett) Halverson’s three sons. He graduated from Sun Prairie High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Fritz had a long career with the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. Fritz married Mary Frances “Fran” Conlin in 1958, and the two were married for 44 years. He was a lifelong reader who also enjoyed playing cards and spending time outdoors. Throughout his life, Fritz volunteered at his church, at ministries for the homeless, and with the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his three children Chris (Susan) Halverson of Madison, Karen (Chad) MacWilliams of Jefferson, and Sarah (Jeremy) Degenhart of St. Louis, MO; three granddaughters, Theresa, Imogen, and Gianna Degenhart and several nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for family and personal friends of the deceased only. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Luke House Community Meal Program.
