Shirley Johnson

Madison - Shirley Johnson, age 81, passed away on August 14, 2023 at home. She was born on December 1, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Anthony and Shirley (Frezon) Scozzari.

Shirley was a devoted wife of 63 years to Harold, they married on December 5, 1959. Loving mother of Joel and Kelly, grandmother of Christopher and Amanda. Loving great grandmother of Laura and Megan.

Shirley loved to fish with her husband at the front of the boat and always caught the largest fish of the day. Their beloved dog Tony was always at their side in the boat to lick the catch. Bingo was her passion, every Sunday she would play and bring her “lucky four-leaf clover” along with new charms supplied by her loving family. The love of everyone’s life. Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Gigi. You will be sorely missed.

Shirley is survived by her husband Harold Johnson; son Joel (Heidi) Johnson and daughter Kelly (Dean) Snider; grandchildren Christopher (Heide Belz) Snider and Amanda Johnson; great granddaughters Laura Snider and Megan Snider. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tony.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Bechtold officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois with Deacon Mike Lozzo officiating.
