Obituary
ARLINGTON – Ross James Walstad, age 51, passed away after a long battle with heart disease on Friday, May 14, 2021. Ross was born on his “National Holiday”, March 9, 1970 in Madison, WI to Curtis James and Marge (Premo) Walstad. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1988 and later achieved an Associates Degree at MATC. Ross married the love of his life, Stacey Nordness, on October 25, 1997 in DeForest, WI. Together they raised three beautiful children. Ross most recently was employed at FMP Inc. in Middleton, WI. He was a very involved member of Christ Lutheran Church in DeForest. His true passion was coaching the youth programs in Poynette, every sport except for soccer. Ross also enjoyed fishing with his family, annual hunting trips to Bear Valley, camping, spending time in Oxford, being involved in the community, and his love of “dad jokes”. Ross was best known for his kindness, giving nature, unforgettable smile, and his involvement with his family.
Ross is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Stacey; children, Savannah (Mitchell Lehr), Parker (Casey Fountain), and Olivia; mother, Marge; sisters, Missy (Francis) Kessel and Ingrid (Alberto) Villanueva; parents-in-law, Keith (Joyce Smith) Nordness and Cindy (Netty Winkler) Nordness; brother-in-law, Kirk (Chelsey) Nordness; grandmother-in-law, Myrna Boehm; along with nieces/nephews, Bryden, Eric, Owen, Kalvin, Matthew, Ryker, and Maizyn; numerous friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis; niece, Kristin Rockman; maternal and paternal grandparents.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest from 2PM until 5PM.
His family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Arlington EMS, St. Mary’s Cardiac & Heart Failure clinics and ER Staff for their care and support.
