Obituary
Waunakee – Allyn W. Humphrey, age 86, passed away on November 28, 2022, at Sylvan Crossings at Westshire Village. He was born on March 29, 1936, to parents Marion and Flora (Helms) Humphrey. Allyn married Carol M. Olsen on May 6, 1961, at Bashford United Methodist Church. He was an avid deer hunter, loved to go camping, enjoyed remodeling, and playing cards. He was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. Allyn was employed with the State of Wisconsin for over 34 years. Allyn was known for his recognizable and infectious laugh.
Allyn is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Carol; 4 children Janet (Terry) Reuter, Dawn (Jeff) Jelen, Shirley (Mark) Hanson, and Mark Humphrey; 11 grandchildren Amanda (Kevin) Peterson, Ryan Sheppard (fiancée Annie Sullivan), Ian Reuter, Stephanie Reuter (Ben Wilcox), Jeffery Jr. (Bobbi Jo) Jelen, Justin (Amanda) Jelen, Jennifer (Josh) Arndt, Mitch Hanson, Noah Hanson, and Natalie Hanson, and Brooke (Braydon) Clendenning; 7 great-grandchildren Ava and Callie Sheppard, Henry Jelen, Aloise and Hudson Arndt, Emalee Monroe, and Jaxon Jelen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wilfred Humphrey and Owen Humphrey; grandson Mark Morley; great grandchildren Brock and Alivia Jelen.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Bashford United Methodist Church, 329 North Street, Madison. A visitation will be held on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
