Obituary
Shirley Jo Lewis, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Madison WI. She was born on November 21, 1936, to William and Mariam (Schneider) Van Huss in Santa Fe, MO.
She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband George Windfield Lewis, and her brother Dale Van Huss.
Shirley is survived by her siblings David Van Huss, Alice (Van Huss) Gampher, and Margret Van Huss and her son Daniel Lewis and daughter-in-law Kimberly Lewis; five grandchildren, Zachary Lewis and his girlfriend Kristianna Robinson, Ekaterina Lewis, Benjamin Lewis and granddaughter-in-law Alissa Lewis, Kristina Lewis, and Joshua Lewis; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander Lewis, Addison Lewis, and Noah Lewis.
She was proud of being a nurses’ aide during her career in the health care industry at several hospitals. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed spending time outdoors in her flower gardens.
Family would like to thank the staff, nurses, and LPNs for excellent care she received while at St. Mary’s Care Center.
