Obituary
Fitchburg – Elizabeth “Liz”, “Momma G”, “Nanny” Gionta passed away in Madison, WI at the age of 72 on October 23, 2020.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 7, 1948 and lived in North Bellmore, NY until she moved to Fitchburg, WI in 1995.
She is survived by her son, Anthony (Heather) Gionta of Madison, WI; granddaughter, Violet; and sister, Kathleen Hegner of Seaford, NY; and many additional family members and friends (though, if you knew Liz, you were more “family” than friend).
Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gionta and her parents, Anthony (Buddy) and Ida (Credidio) Campagna.
She was an avid collector of items, especially Beanie Babies and loved her Hallmark Channel programs. She had many hobbies over the years – gambling, putting puzzles together, cross stitch and working on word puzzles stand out. For everyone that knew her, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, friend, and daughter.
