Verona- Gerald Lee Hankins, age 73, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. He was born on October 15, 1947 to Raymond and Bernice (Mills) Hankins in Baraboo, WI. Gerald married Kay Hinrichs on December 28, 1974.
Gerald was loving, kind, caring, strong and very compassionate. He enjoyed listening to old country music, camping, going out to eat and shopping. Gerald also loved playing with his one and only grandson, playing cards and fishing. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Gerald is survived by his wife Kay; sons, Jeffrey (Stacy), Jeremy (Victoria); grandson, Hunter; brothers, Richard (Mary), Russ (Kay); sister, Terri (Tom) Griffith; sister-in-law, Erleen; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Karen and Joyce; brother, Tom, and infant brother Raymond Jr.
A Celebration of Gerald’s Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Ryan Funeral Home, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military Honors will take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers Kay wanted donations to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
