Madison- Susan Kay Farnham, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. She was born on April 27, 1947 in Madison, WI to Isaac and Kate (Bunting) Schaffer. Susan was married to Michael “Mike” Farnham on April 7, 1990 at Orchard Ridge United Church of Christ. They met playing volleyball and continued their friendship in a bowling league.

Susan worked at University Hospital as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. She was a compassionate and dedicated nurse, mother and in every other aspect of life. She was an avid lifelong Packer and Badger fan. She also enjoyed watching gymnastics, especially the Olympics. Susan had quite the green thumb. She loved tending to her annuals and perennials. She enjoyed playing hymns on her piano. She had an infectious laugh, a beautiful sense of humor. She was an active member of the East Side Alano Club and she had 7 years of recovery and sobriety. Susan was a godly woman whose faith was very important to her and a significant part of her recovery.

Susan is survived by her husband, Mike; daughter, Shannon; stepson, Thomas; three sisters; beloved granddog Ramona, slightly overweight cat Missy and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear aunt Edith.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made out to the East Side Alano Club, Nar-Anon or DAIS (Domestic Abuse Intervention Services).
